Faculty of Food Technology (FFT) of the J. J. Strossmayer University of Osijek is one of the domestic co-organizers of the 6th International Congress of Nutritionists. It was founded in 1971 as Agricultural Food Technology Faculty at the High Agricultural School. The foundation of the University of J. J. Strossmayer in Osijek in 1975 created the prerequisites for the establishment of the Faculty of Food Technology as an independent unit. In the beginning, the faculty's graduate studies provided the academic titles of engineers of food technology, the direction of nutrition engineering, with two directions, nutritional and food extraction orientation. With the introduction of so-called. "Bologna", from the academic year 2005/2006, one bachelor programme has been established (Food Technology), three master programmes (Food Engineering, Food Science and Nutrition and Process Engineering), a three-year PhD program in Food Engineering, and three one-year postgraduate specialist study programmes: Food Safety and Quality, Traditional Meat Products Technologies and Nutrition. The organization of the Bioprocess Engineering master programme is being prepared.
Currently, the faculty attends approximately 650 students. Annualy the faculty enrolls about 160 students where 60 students complete the studies. So far (from 1971 to today), 1096 students graduated FFT.
